Real weddding – A wonderful harmony of a Danish & English wedding in Florence – Tuscany took place last month in the historical walls of a 13th Century Villa which was originally built on the ruins of an ancient monastery only 25 minutes from centre of Florence. Tina and David fell in love with the place the minute we took them there and they set eyes on it, the decision was made and thereafter we worked together to create their beautiful wedding in these walls.
More than 100 guests that attended that special day, celebrated the night before, the wedding day and the lunch the day after all together making it a perfect weekend wedding in each other’s company.
The Symbolic wedding took place in the fabulous Cloister of the Villa with a Harpist playing the traditional ‘Welsh Ground’ music on a beautiful Classical Harp as the Bride walked down the aisle, the ceremony shed a few tears of happiness both for the couple as for the guests. The welcome cocktail with all its delicious appetizers and aperitifs was a wonderful start to the wedding party dinner especially with the background music of the harp, which created a wonderful atmosphere.
At the sit-down dinner party all the enjoyable traditions between the Danish and the Welsh came out in most of the speeches filling the room with laughter and songs between the meal courses. The cutting of the wedding cake was a real live performance, where the cook made and decorated the cake in front of the newly-weds and the guests on the terrace of the Villa, the hearty applauses echoed down the valley.
Then it was the newly-weds first dance which gave way to a full and exciting dance party to the good music of the DJ. Tina, David, ourselves and their guests will have that memorable wedding week-end embedded in theirs and our minds forever.
